Make sure squash can be easily smashed with a fork. Place a single layer of squash on baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes. Cut each half into 1/4“ half moons and place in a bowl. Cut the squash in half from top stem to bottom. Set squash on the level cut side for stability. Tip! Winter squash can be difficult to cut-be careful! First pierce the outside of the squash in several places using a fork or knife and microwave on high for 3 minutes. Rinse the outside of the acorn squash under water.
